Trip report · A first with Nuyama
Aiguilles d’Entrèves: a first in the high mountains, father and son
On 10 July 2026, Frédéric and his son Augustin had their very first mountain route: the traverse of the Aiguilles d’Entrèves (3,600 m), prepared and guided by Nuyama. Approachable, at altitude, in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif — and, by the two climbers’ own account, a real success.
A first in the mountains, prepared and guided
Setting out in the high mountains for the first time isn’t something you improvise — but it’s not out of reach either. It’s often a matter of the right objective, the right preparation and the right guidance. The Aiguilles d’Entrèves tick all three boxes: a genuine altitude route, in a spectacular setting, yet with a difficulty that stays reasonable when you’re well looked after.
For a first time, guidance changes everything. A guide who prepares the outing, picks the right day, sets the pace and passes on the right moves is what takes you from “am I up to this?” to “let’s enjoy the moment.” Confidence isn’t declared — it’s built, step by step, on the ground. That’s exactly what we aim to offer at Nuyama: a high-mountain experience designed to be lived to the full, safely.

The traverse of the Aiguilles d’Entrèves
The Aiguilles d’Entrèves (3,600 m) raise their jagged pinnacles at the head of the Glacier du Géant, in the Mont Blanc massif, on the Italian side. The traverse of their ridge (AD-) links easy rock and snow sections, with air on both sides and the massif all around. And it’s right by Pointe Helbronner: you’re in the heart of the high mountains very quickly, with no endless walk-in.

Our day with Fred and Augustin
We set off across the Glacier du Géant, crampons on, the Dent du Géant in our sights. Then the ridge, its pinnacles to skirt or climb over, and that special feeling of moving roped together above the drop. Fred and Augustin found their rhythm fast, and enjoyment took over from apprehension.

And then the summit, shared between a father and his son on their first route. Those moments stay with you.

A word from Fred and Augustin
“Hi Yann, thank you again for that superb day on the Entrèves ridges! We loved every minute of it, from start to finish. Thank you for your good humour, your professionalism, your patience and all your advice. You put us at ease, which let us fully enjoy this magnificent day in the high mountains, in a setting that was simply incredible. We’re leaving with wonderful memories and the urge to come back and share another mountain adventure with you. Take care, and until next time!”
— Augustin and Fred
