Climb the summit of Mont Blanc, 4810m! The highest peak in Europe, climbed for the first time in 1786 by the guide Jacques Balmat and Doctor Paccard, is still a major objective today!

Technically not very difficult, it is nevertheless a great and beautiful challenge at high altitude that should not be taken lightly!

We offer a 6-day program that will allow you to attempt the ascent of Mont Blanc by testing yourself on another 4000m summit beforehand to acclimatize to the altitude and learn crampon techniques.

The price above is the price per person based on two people per guide.

Since the biggest difficulty is our body acclimatization to the altitude, we propose a 6-day program with training days, a 4000m peak as a teaser and the ascent of Mont Blanc in 2 or 3 days depending on conditions and your abilities. 

The program below is subject to be changed by your guide according to weather, your physical abilities and also mountain hut bookings.

Day 0: Chamonix 
Let’s have a drink in Chamonix to start knowing each other and check your equipment.

Day 1: Acclimatization day 
We’ll go straight to the mountains. With the Aiguille du Midi cable car, we’ll go towards Helbronner (opposite Aiguille du Midi on the Italian border) for a glacier walk called “Traversée de la Vallée Blanche”. It is a 4 to 6 hrs glaciers hike around 3500m. A perfect training day to test your climbing shoes, get in touch with glaciers and high mountains environment for a wonderful.

Day 2: Gran Paradiso ascent 
Let’s go to Italy to climb Gran Paradiso, the only 4000m peak entirely in Italy. It takes about 1,5hr by car to reach the Valsavarenche, a wonderful valley in the Gran Paradiso national park. A 2 hr hike will take us to Chabod hut at 2710m. We’ll sleep there after a good Italian diner.

Day 3: Gran Paradiso ascent
Breakfast at 4 am to start our Gran Paradiso ascent. The first part is a quite steep and rocky trail and then we’ll hike on a glacier almost to the top. The final part is an easy rocky ridge with a stunning view. It takes about 4/5hr from the hut to reach the virgin statue at the summit. We’ll then go down either by the same route or depending on timing by the Victor Emmanuel hut, which offers a different route down the same valley. We’ll drive back to Chamonix.

Day 4: Rest day
We do have 2 possibilities. Option 1, we plan our Mont Blanc ascent in 3 days, we’ll head up in the afternoon to Tête Rousse mountain hut (3162m). Otherwise, day 4 could be a rest day before going to Mont-Blanc in 2 days (option 2).

Day 5: Mont-Blanc ascent

Option 1: we’ll start hiking from Tête Rousse at 1.30/2 am to climb the Gouter north-west face and reach the Gouter (3815 m) hut in the early morning. After some rest, we’ll keep hiking towards the Mont-Blanc summit and eventually reach it around midday. Doing so, we’ll have time to walk back down to Gouter hut and sleep there.

Option 2: we’ll start from Les Houches taking the cable car and the train to Nid d’Aigle (2300m) and hike all the way to the Gouter hut.

Day 6: Mont-Blanc ascent
Option 1: we’ll wake up around 7 am and descend to Nid d’aigle to catch the train and get back to Chamonix.

Option 2: Early start, breakfast is at 3 am. We’ll go to Mont Blanc summit (4 to 6 hours) and then all the way back down. The option is for fit people since the descent is very long.

Specific References

The price of 2180 € is the price per person. There must be a minimum of two people to benefit from this rate.

We will not organize a group for this activity as this type of climb is dependent on your physical condition and from our experience, we know that mixing people who do not know each other before doing this activity leads to frustration.

Tip from our team : 

Mont Blanc is the highest summit of the EU and should not be underestimated even though it is not a technical ascent. Get prepared physically as much as you can. The summit day is a 10 / 12hr day of walking up and down.
